Gripping & compelling story adapted from Alabama author, Harper Lee from Monroeville; this story depicts the South during harder times and follows Atticus Finch & his family. It's a coming of age story filled with struggles, mystery, and compassion. Website: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/To_Kill_a_Mockingbird_(film) |

Positive:
To Kill a Mockingbird has always been a favorite book and movie. Every fall I have an urge to rewatch the excellent movie adaption staring Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch. I love all the characters: Scout, Jeb, Dill, Capurnia, and an unknown-at-the-time, Robert Duvall in the non-speaking role of Boo Radley. It shows the harsh reality of racism and prejudice in a time of innocence and the integrity and strength taken to combat these things. Situated in fictional Maycomb, AL, Harper Lee used her hometown, Monroeville, AL as the basis. Likewise, Harper Lee took her friend, Truman Capote to be the basis forJem & Scout's friend, Dill. Truly one that will elicit tears, laughter, rage, madness, guilt, and shame but will leave you feeling better that you sided with Atticus and through him fought the good fight; even if it didn't turn out right, the right thing was done. That is the measure of true character; doing the right thing because it's the right thing to do at the right time.
Negative:
They don't make 'em like they used to!
